I AM directed by the Board of Trade to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 24th February on the subject of the interdepartmental committee for considering measures to give effect to the International Opium Convention in this country.

I am to state, for Sir E. Grey's information, that this Department will be repre sented on the committee by Mr. G. J. Stanley, C.B., C.M.G., who will attend its first meeting at the Fureign Office on the date mentioned in your letter under reference.
